Tradescantia spathacea 'Tri-Color,' commonly known as the Moses-in-the-Cradle or Boat Lily, is a vibrant, low-maintenance plant celebrated for its striking, multicolored foliage. This plant is an eye-catching addition to both indoor and outdoor gardens.

Key Features:

  • Foliage: The leaves are long, narrow, and sword-shaped, displaying a stunning mix of green, pink, and cream stripes. The underside of each leaf is a rich purple, adding contrast and depth to the plant’s appearance.

  • Growth Habit: Tradescantia spathacea 'Tri-Color' forms a rosette-like growth pattern, reaching up to 12 inches in height, making it ideal for pots, borders, or ground cover in warm climates.

Care Requirements:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain the vivid colors. In lower light, the variegation may fade.

  • Watering: Allow the top layer of soil to dry out between waterings. Avoid overwatering, as excessive moisture can lead to root rot.

  • Soil: Thrives in well-draining, moderately fertile soil. A general potting mix with added perlite works well.

  • Temperature and Humidity: This plant prefers warmth and moderate to high humidity but can adapt to average indoor conditions.
