Shangri-La Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'Shangri-La') is a unique and eye-catching cultivar of pothos, known for its highly crinkled and twisted foliage. Unlike the typical heart-shaped, flat leaves of most pothos varieties, Shangri-La's leaves curl and twist, giving it a wild, sculptural appearance.

Key Features:

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum 'Shangri-La'

Common Name: Shangri-La Pothos, Godzilla Pothos (less common)

Leaf Appearance: Thick, dark green leaves with intense curling and crumpling, sometimes resembling closed buds or claws

Growth Habit: Vining like other pothos, but tends to be bushier due to its compact and twisted leaves

Light Requirements: Bright, indirect light preferred; tolerates lower light but growth may slow

Watering: Let soil dry out between waterings; avoid overwatering

Toxicity: Toxic to pets if ingested (contains insoluble calcium oxalates)

Care Tips:

Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity; leaf curl is natural and not a sign of under-watering in this variety

Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced houseplant fertilizer

Propagation: Can be propagated via stem cuttings in water or soil, though it grows more slowly than other pothos types

Ideal For:

Indoor plant lovers looking for something a bit different and sculptural

Compact spaces or desks (less sprawling than Golden Pothos)

Collections focused on rare or unusual foliage plants
