The Pothos 'Neon Queen' (Epipremnum aureum 'Neon Queen') is a captivating houseplant celebrated for its vibrant, variegated foliage. This cultivar combines the bright chartreuse leaves of the 'Neon' Pothos with the marbled variegation of the 'Marble Queen', resulting in a striking display of green and yellow patterns.

Key Characteristics:

  • Foliage: Features heart-shaped leaves with a mix of bright green and yellow variegation, creating a lively and eye-catching appearance.

  • Growth Habit: Exhibits a trailing or climbing growth pattern, making it ideal for hanging baskets or training along trellises.

Care Requirements:

  • Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, insufficient light may reduce the vibrancy of its variegation.

  • Watering: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure proper drainage.

  • Humidity: Prefers moderate humidity levels but is adaptable to average indoor conditions.

  • Temperature: Ideal indoor temperatures range between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

  • Soil: Requires well-draining, fertile soil. A peat-based potting mix with added perlite or sand works well.

Additional Tips:

  • Fertilization: Feed monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.

  • Pruning: Remove yellowing or damaged leaves to encourage healthy new growth. Pruning can also help maintain the desired shape and size.

  • Pests: Watch for common houseplant pests like spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs. Regularly inspect the plant and treat any infestations promptly.

With proper care, the Pothos 'Neon Queen' can be a stunning and low-maintenance addition to your indoor plant collection, offering lush foliage and a tropical ambiance.
