The Monstera 'Thai Constellation' is a rare and highly sought-after variegated variety of Monstera deliciosa. It features creamy white and yellow speckled variegation across its large, fenestrated leaves, resembling a starry sky—hence the name "Thai Constellation." This plant is cultivated through tissue culture and does not revert like some other variegated plants, making it a stunning and stable choice for collectors.

Care Guide for Monstera 'Thai Constellation'

Light

Bright, indirect light is ideal to maintain strong variegation.

Can tolerate medium light, but growth may slow, and variegation may be less pronounced.

Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the white parts of the leaves.

Watering

Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil are dry.

Prefers slightly moist but well-draining soil.

Overwatering can cause root rot, while underwatering may lead to droopy leaves.

Soil

Needs a well-aerated, chunky mix to prevent root rot.

A mix of peat, orchid bark, perlite, and compost works well.

Avoid dense or compact soils that retain too much moisture.

Temperature & Humidity

Ideal temperature: 18–27°C (65–80°F).

Prefers high humidity (60% or more) to thrive.

If the air is dry, use a humidifier, pebble tray, or mist occasionally to maintain moisture levels.

Fertilizing

Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring & summer).

Reduce feeding in fall and winter when growth slows.

A fertilizer with calcium and magnesium can support strong leaf development.

Pruning & Maintenance

Remove damaged or yellowing leaves to encourage new growth.

Clean leaves regularly to prevent dust buildup.

Provide a moss pole or trellis for support to encourage larger leaf development.

Propagation

Propagate through stem cuttings with at least one node and aerial root.

Root in water, moss, or soil, ensuring high humidity for successful rooting.

Common Issues

Brown or crispy variegation → Too much direct sunlight or low humidity.

Yellowing leaves → Overwatering or poor drainage.

Slow growth → Insufficient light or lack of nutrients.

Pet Safety

Toxic to pets if ingested, as it contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause mouth and digestive irritation.
