Hoya 'Rosita' is a stunning hybrid Hoya, resulting from the cross between Hoya wayetii and Hoya tsangii. It is admired for its elongated leaves, vibrant flowers, and easy-to-care-for nature, making it a favorite among Hoya enthusiasts. Its compact growth habit and striking blooms make it an excellent choice for indoor plant collections.

Key Features:

1. Foliage:

The leaves are long, narrow, and slightly pointed, resembling those of Hoya wayetii but with a slightly thinner profile.

The foliage is deep green with a glossy surface, and under bright light, the edges may develop a reddish tint.

2. Flowers:

The blooms are vibrant and star-shaped, appearing in clusters (umbels).

They are typically deep pink to red with a darker center and have a waxy, glossy texture.

The flowers are fragrant, releasing a sweet scent, especially in the evening.

3. Growth Habit:

A trailing or climbing plant that does well in hanging baskets or when trained on a trellis.

Its growth is relatively fast compared to some other Hoyas.

4. Light Requirements:

Prefers bright, indirect light, which enhances both foliage coloration and blooming.

Can tolerate some direct morning sunlight but should be protected from harsh afternoon rays.

5. Watering:

Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry.

Overwatering should be avoided, as the plant is susceptible to root rot.

6. Humidity and Temperature:

Thrives in moderate to high humidity but adapts to typical indoor conditions.

Optimal temperatures range from 18-26°C (65-80°F). Avoid exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 10°C (50°F).

7. Soil:

Requires a well-draining potting mix, such as a combination of orchid bark, perlite, and peat or coco coir.

A light, airy soil structure helps prevent waterlogging.

8. Propagation:

Easily propagated through stem cuttings with at least one node.

Rooting is successful in water, sphagnum moss, or a moist potting medium.

Care Tips:

Fertilize monthly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.

Prune lightly to encourage bushier growth and maintain the desired shape.

Provide a stable environment with consistent watering and lighting to encourage frequent blooming.

Hoya 'Rosita' is a beautiful and rewarding plant, perfect for both beginners and experienced collectors. Its vibrant flowers and elegant foliage make it a centerpiece in any Hoya collection.
