Hoya krohniana 'Black' is a rare and striking cultivar of Hoya krohniana, known for its dramatic, dark-colored foliage. This unique variety is a favorite among plant collectors and enthusiasts due to its bold appearance and manageable care needs.

Key Features:

1. Foliage:

The leaves are small, heart-shaped, and dark green to nearly black, depending on light exposure and growing conditions.

The glossy surface adds depth and a luxurious feel to its appearance.

2. Growth Habit:

A compact, trailing or climbing plant that works well in pots, hanging baskets, or trained on trellises.

It has a relatively slow growth rate compared to other Hoyas.

3. Flowers:

Produces clusters of small, waxy, star-shaped flowers.

The flowers are typically white or pale with a sweet fragrance.

4. Light Requirements:

Thrives in bright, indirect light. Higher light levels enhance the dark tones of the leaves.

Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the foliage.

5. Watering:

Water when the top layer of soil feels dry.

Ensure the potting medium is well-draining to prevent overwatering.

6. Humidity and Temperature:

Prefers moderate to high humidity, but adapts to average indoor levels.

Grows best in warm environments with temperatures between 18-26°C (65-80°F).

7. Propagation:

Easily propagated through stem cuttings with nodes.

Best results are achieved during the growing season.

8. Soil:

Requires a light, well-draining potting mix, such as a mix for succulents or orchids.

Proper drainage is essential to keep the roots healthy.

Hoya krohniana 'Black' is a showstopper in any indoor plant collection, combining its striking dark foliage with the easy care Hoyas are known for. It is ideal for plant enthusiasts seeking a unique and eye-catching addition to their space.
