The Ficus Ali Braided Standard is a popular and elegant variety of Ficus maclellandii, also known as Alii Fig. This plant is recognized for its long, narrow, and glossy green leaves, which give it a unique, tropical aesthetic. The braided trunk adds an extra touch of sophistication, making it an excellent choice for interior spaces that require a statement plant.

Care Guide for Ficus Ali Braided Standard:

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some lower light conditions but may grow slower and lose some vibrancy in lower light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Watering: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Be careful not to overwater, as Ficus trees are prone to root rot. Ensure that the pot has good drainage and let the soil dry out between waterings.

Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity, so if the air in your home is dry, consider misting the leaves or using a humidifier. This will help prevent leaf drop and keep the plant healthy.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range is 65-75°F (18-24°C). Protect it from drafts and cold temperatures below 50°F (10°C), as it can cause damage to the plant.

Soil: Prefers well-draining, loamy soil. A good-quality potting mix designed for houseplants or tropical plants will work well.

Fertilization: Feed the plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer), typically once a month. Reduce fertilizing during the fall and winter months when the plant is in a dormant phase.

Growth Habit: The Ficus Ali Braided Standard has an upright, tree-like growth with a braided trunk. It can grow between 4-6 feet indoors, making it an ideal plant for larger spaces. Regular pruning can help maintain its shape.

Pruning: Trim any dead or damaged leaves to keep the plant looking neat. Occasionally prune the top to encourage branching if you want to maintain a bushier appearance.

Toxicity: The Ficus Ali Braided Standard is toxic to pets (cats and dogs) and humans if ingested. Keep it out of reach of pets and young children.

Selling Tips for Your Store:

Highlight the Braided Trunk: The unique braided trunk is a significant selling point. It gives the plant a decorative and sophisticated look, making it a great addition to upscale or modern spaces.

Large, Statement Plant: This variety of Ficus is perfect for customers looking for a large indoor plant to fill up corners or brighten entryways. Promote it as a focal point plant that adds tropical vibes to any room.

Care Education: Since Ficus plants can be a bit sensitive to changes in light or temperature, include care instructions and guidance on how to maintain its health and appearance.

Pot Pairing: Suggest pairing with sleek, modern pots to emphasize its elegant appearance. A decorative pot will complement the braided trunk and long leaves, creating a stylish focal point.

Pet Safety Reminder: Be sure to include a note about its toxicity to pets on tags or labels, so pet owners are aware of the potential risks.
