Episcia 'Silver Screen' is a striking variety of flame violet, prized for its beautifully patterned foliage and delicate flowers. It is a low-growing, trailing plant, making it perfect for hanging baskets, terrariums, or as a tabletop accent.

Features:

Foliage: The leaves are silvery with prominent dark green or purple veins, creating a dramatic contrast. The surface has a velvety texture.

Flowers: Produces small, tubular blooms, typically bright red, orange, or pink, adding a vibrant pop of color against the silvery foliage.

Growth Habit: Creeping or trailing growth, ideal for cascading over pots or filling in shaded areas.

Care:

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while low light may reduce flowering and dull the foliage.

Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top inch of soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Humidity: Thrives in high humidity. Place near a humidifier, mist occasionally, or grow in a terrarium for optimal conditions.

Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures between 65–80°F. Protect from cold drafts or temperatures below 60°F.

Soil: Requires well-draining soil, such as a mix for African violets or a blend of peat moss and perlite.

Fertilizer: Feed every 2–3 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced fertilizer.

Maintenance:

Pruning: Pinch back stems to encourage bushier growth and remove spent flowers to promote blooming.

Repotting: Repot when the plant becomes root-bound or when the soil needs refreshing, typically every 1–2 years.

Propagation: Easily propagated by stolons (runners) or leaf cuttings.

Additional Notes:

Sensitive to overwatering; ensure pots have drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.

The vibrant foliage makes it a standout even when not in bloom.

Non-toxic and safe for households with pets.

Episcia 'Silver Screen' is a versatile and eye-catching plant, ideal for adding a touch of elegance to indoor gardens. Its unique foliage and easy care make it a favorite among plant enthusiasts.
