Epiphyllum anguliger, commonly known as the Fishbone Cactus, is a unique epiphytic cactus native to the tropical rainforests of Mexico. This plant is celebrated for its distinctive, deeply lobed stems that resemble fishbones, and its ability to produce large, fragrant flowers.

Key Characteristics:

  • Foliage: The stems are flat, elongated, and deeply lobed, giving them a fishbone-like appearance. They are typically green and fleshy, allowing them to store water and contributing to the plant’s drought tolerance.

  • Flowers: Epiphyllum anguliger produces large, fragrant, white or creamy flowers that bloom at night. These flowers are intense in fragrance and attract nighttime pollinators, such as moths and bats, in their natural habitat.

Cultivation and Care:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while insufficient light may lead to leggy growth.

  • Watering: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the pot has proper drainage.

  • Humidity: Thrives in high humidity. Regular misting or placing the plant on a humidity tray can help maintain adequate moisture levels.

  • Temperature: Ideal temperatures range between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). Protect the plant from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

  • Soil: Requires well-draining soil. A mix containing peat moss and perlite is suitable.

How long will it take to recieve my order?

We always choose overnight or express shipping options. Once shipped, most orders arrive in 1-2 days in Canada and the USA. Depending on your location, shipping might take longer. Occassionally, customs clearance might take an additional day.

We ship orders from our store or specialized grow facility in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Do I recieve a tracking number?

A tracking number will be emailed to you once your order has shipped. You can also find your order and tracking information under your account.

What's the process to return an item if I decide I don'twant it?

We will gladly accept returns for a refund, provided the items and plants have not been damaged, propogated, or repotted. Returned plants are subject to a 10% restocking fee, due to the recovery care needed for returned plants, and shipping/permit costs are nonrefundable. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs as well as all paperwork required to ship back to Canada (e.g. phytosanitary certificates).
