Dracaena marginata 'Wave', also known as Madagascar Dragon Tree 'Wave', is a striking variety of the Dracaena marginata species. It is renowned for its unique, wavy foliage and graceful appearance, making it a popular choice for modern interiors and tropical-themed spaces. This plant is hardy and low-maintenance, perfect for both novice and experienced plant enthusiasts.

Key Features:

1. Foliage:

The leaves are long, slender, and distinctly wavy, giving the plant its name.

The foliage is typically green, sometimes with lighter green or grayish hues, creating a textured, rippled effect.

The leaves grow in a rosette pattern at the top of the stems, adding to its architectural appeal.

2. Growth Habit:

A slow-growing, upright plant that can reach 4-6 feet indoors under proper conditions.

Has a cane-like trunk that enhances its sculptural appearance.

3. Light Requirements:

Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light levels, although growth may slow.

Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the delicate leaves.

4. Watering:

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.

Ensure the pot has proper drainage to prevent waterlogging and root rot.

5. Humidity and Temperature:

Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to standard indoor conditions.

Ideal temperatures range from 18-26°C (65-80°F). Avoid exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 12°C (54°F).

6. Soil:

Requires a well-draining potting mix. A mix designed for houseplants with added perlite or sand is ideal.

7. Propagation:

Propagates through stem cuttings or air layering.

Propagation is most successful during the growing season (spring or summer).

8. Care Tips:

Fertilize monthly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength.

Prune to maintain its shape and remove any yellowing or damaged leaves.

Clean the leaves periodically to remove dust and promote healthy growth.

Additional Notes:

Dracaena marginata 'Wave' is an excellent air purifier, improving indoor air quality by removing toxins like formaldehyde and benzene.

It is mildly toxic to pets if ingested, so it should be placed out of reach of cats and dogs.

With its wavy foliage and striking silhouette, Dracaena marginata 'Wave' adds a touch of elegance and tropical flair to any space. It is a versatile, low-maintenance plant that can thrive in a variety of indoor environments.
