Dendrobium lindleyi (also known as Dendrobium aggregatum, though that name is now considered illegitimate) is a miniature to small-sized, epiphytic orchid native to the mountains of southern China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan) and Southeast Asia, including India, Bangladesh, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam .


Description:

  • Growth Habit: This orchid forms mats of densely packed, slightly flattened, spindle-shaped pseudobulbs, each bearing a single, leathery, evergreen leaf.
  • Size: Pseudobulbs are about 2 inches (5 cm) long, and leaves range from 1–3 inches (2–7 cm) .
  • Flowers: In spring, it produces cascading clusters of bright yellow flowers, which are highly ornamental and fragrant.

Habitat & Range:

  • Native Range: Southern China and Southeast Asia, typically found in mountainous regions.
  • Growth Environment: Grows as an epiphyte on trees in warm to cool climates.

Cultivation Tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light.
  • Temperature: Thrives in hot to cool conditions, but to trigger blooming, it requires cool nights (50–60°F/10–16°C) and a drier rest period in winter .
  • Water: Keep drier in winter; resume regular watering as new growth appears.
  • Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity, with good air movement.

Do you ship year-round?

Yes – we ship every week of the year! However, in the case of extreme weather conditions or emergency situations (e.g. flooding/fires that would interupt couriers), we may delay shipping until it is safe to ship.

How long will it take to recieve my order?

We always choose overnight or express shipping options. Once shipped, most orders arrive in 1-2 days in Canada and the USA. Depending on your location, shipping might take longer. Occassionally, customs clearance might take an additional day.

Where do products ship from?

We ship orders from our store or specialized grow facility in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Do I recieve a tracking number?

A tracking number will be emailed to you once your order has shipped. You can also find your order and tracking information under your account.

What's the process to return an item if I decide I don'twant it?

We will gladly accept returns for a refund, provided the items and plants have not been damaged, propogated, or repotted. Returned plants are subject to a 10% restocking fee, due to the recovery care needed for returned plants, and shipping/permit costs are nonrefundable. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs as well as all paperwork required to ship back to Canada (e.g. phytosanitary certificates).
