The Fire Flash Plant (Chlorophytum orchidastrum), also known as the Orange Spider Plant or Mandarin Plant, is a stunning tropical houseplant prized for its vibrant orange petioles (leaf stems) that contrast beautifully with its broad, deep green leaves. It’s a unique member of the Chlorophytum family, which also includes the common Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum).

Care Guide for Fire Flash Plant

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some lower light conditions. Too much direct sun may scorch the leaves.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil starts to dry out.

Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity (50%+). Misting or using a pebble tray can help maintain moisture.

Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures (18-26°C). Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Soil: Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix with perlite or sand for aeration.

Fertilizer: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer to encourage healthy growth.

Growth Habit: Unlike the traditional Spider Plant, Fire Flash doesn’t produce runners or "babies," but it grows into a beautiful, bushy form.

Toxicity: Generally non-toxic to pets, making it a safe choice for households with cats or dogs.

How long will it take to recieve my order?

We always choose overnight or express shipping options. Once shipped, most orders arrive in 1-2 days in Canada and the USA. Depending on your location, shipping might take longer. Occassionally, customs clearance might take an additional day.

A tracking number will be emailed to you once your order has shipped. You can also find your order and tracking information under your account.

We will gladly accept returns for a refund, provided the items and plants have not been damaged, propogated, or repotted. Returned plants are subject to a 10% restocking fee, due to the recovery care needed for returned plants, and shipping/permit costs are nonrefundable.
