Calathea Rosey is a stunning variety of the Calathea genus, known for its bold and colorful foliage. Often referred to as a Prayer Plant due to its unique habit of folding its leaves upward in the evening, this tropical plant is cherished for its decorative appeal and ability to thrive indoors.

Key Features:

1. Foliage: The large, oval leaves have a striking pink center surrounded by dark green edges, with pale maroon undersides. The vibrant contrast makes it a standout plant in any collection.

2. Size: Typically grows to about 30-60 cm (12-24 inches) in height and width, making it a manageable plant for smaller spaces.

Care Tips:

1. Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can fade the vibrant colors, while too little light may hinder growth.

2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Use filtered or distilled water to avoid leaf damage from minerals in tap water.

3. Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (50-60% or higher). Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or mist regularly to maintain moisture.

4. Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures between 18-26°C (65-80°F). Avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature changes.

5. Soil: Requires a well-draining potting mix, such as a combination of peat, perlite, and potting soil.

6. Fertilizer: Feed with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

7. Pruning: Remove any yellow or damaged leaves to keep the plant healthy and encourage new growth.

Additional Notes:

Water Sensitivity: Calathea Rosey is sensitive to chemicals in tap water, such as chlorine and fluoride. Let tap water sit overnight before use or switch to filtered water.

Pests: Watch for spider mites and mealybugs, especially in dry environments. Regularly clean the leaves to prevent infestations.

Pet-Friendly: Non-toxic to pets, making it a great choice for households with animals.

Calathea Rosey is an elegant and vibrant addition to any indoor plant collection. Its beautiful foliage and unique evening movements make it both decorative and fascinating to care for.
