Chamaecereus silvestrii, commonly known as the Peanut Cactus, is a small, trailing cactus native to Argentina. It is beloved for its finger-like stems, soft spines, and stunning bright orange-red flowers that bloom in spring and summer. This low-maintenance cactus is perfect for hanging baskets, rock gardens, or as a potted houseplant.

Care Guide:

Light: Thrives in full sun to bright indirect light. Indoors, place it near a sunny window.

Watering: Water moderately during the growing season (spring and summer), allowing the soil to dry between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.

Soil: Requires well-draining cactus soil, ideally mixed with sand or perlite.

Temperature & Humidity: Prefers warm temperatures (above 10°C/50°F) but can tolerate brief periods of light frost down to -5°C (23°F) if kept dry.

Fertilizer: Feed with a diluted cactus fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.

Growth & Size: Forms low-growing clumps with stems up to 6 inches (15 cm) long.

Propagation: Easily propagated from stem cuttings, which root quickly in soil.

This cactus is a favorite for its fast growth, easy care, and vibrant flowers.
