Pearl and Jade Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'Pearls and Jade') is a popular variegated houseplant known for its striking green and white foliage. This cultivar, derived from the classic pothos, is slower-growing and more compact, making it perfect for smaller spaces or as a table or hanging plant.

Features:

Foliage: Small, heart-shaped leaves with a mix of green, white, and silver variegation. The white areas often have speckles of green or gray.

Growth Habit: A trailing or climbing plant that stays more compact compared to other pothos varieties.

Care:

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Can tolerate low light but may lose variegation in very dim conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Water: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.

Humidity: Adapts well to average household humidity but benefits from occasional misting in drier environments.

Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 65–85°F and should be kept away from cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F.

Soil: Requires a well-draining potting mix.

Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced fertilizer.

Maintenance:

Pruning: Trim back long vines to maintain a fuller, bushier shape.

Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound.

Propagation: Easily propagated through stem cuttings in water or soil.

Additional Notes:

Slower growth compared to other pothos varieties means it requires less frequent pruning.

Toxic to pets if ingested, so keep out of reach of cats and dogs.

Dust the leaves occasionally to keep them clean and allow for optimal photosynthesis.

The Pearl and Jade Pothos is a beautiful, low-maintenance choice for adding elegance and greenery to any indoor space.
